A boiler install is a piping job. Judge ours by the basement.
Anyone can set a boiler on the floor. The near-boiler piping — the header, the equalizer, the risers — decides whether the system runs quiet for thirty years or bangs from day one. Scroll down; we show our work.
Steam & hydronic replacement
How we scope a boiler replacement
- Steam or hot water, sized to the radiation — a steam boiler is sized to the connected radiators, not the square footage. Skipping that survey is how replacements end up short-cycling; we count every radiator before we quote.
- Piped to the manufacturer's diagram — not to "how the old one was." Weil-McLain publishes the drawing; we build it, in copper and black iron that looks the way the photos below look.
- The safeties done right — low-water cutoff, relief valve, backflow, gas line checked end to end. This is gas work in an occupied home; it gets treated that way.
- Old boiler out, water back on — most residential swaps are done in a day, and the old unit leaves on our truck.
- Rebates flagged — National Grid runs high-efficiency heating equipment rebates downstate; when your chosen unit qualifies, the paperwork math goes into the written estimate.
Replace, or keep repairing?
A leaking section is the point of no return — once water shows through the castings, the block is done. Short of that, plenty of "condemned" boilers just need honest repair work: a circulator, a cutoff, a repipe. We put both numbers in front of you and let the arithmetic pick.
