The story

A family shop, in the literal sense

Read our reviews and you'll notice something unusual: customers name names. Michael, who still shows up to look at jobs himself — "Michael the owner came the very next day," one wrote. Anthony, the second generation, who prices the work with his father. Cindy, who runs the office and answers the phone. And crews a customer described as "on point and CLEAN — which, after doing this project, no one is clean!!"

That's not a marketing department writing personas. It's a family and the crew that's grown around them since 1972 — incorporated as Di Benedetto Heating & Air Conditioning Corp. in 1983, doing business as Community II ever since. Veteran-owned, licensed, insured, and still at 39 Broad Street.

What we believe, shown not told

• Quote the fee on the phone. Nobody should meet a surprise number at their own front door.
• Fix what can be fixed. Replacement is a last resort with arithmetic behind it, never a script.
• Leave it cleaner than we found it. Drop cloths, shoe covers, a swept floor, the old unit gone.
• Answer the phone like the neighbors we are — because on this island, everybody knows everybody.
